Dama Dama Free Range is a family owned business run by Anthony & Beth Roe in South West Victoria. The Roe's moved away from the chaos of Sydney 15 years ago to create a self sufficient & less stressful lifestyle for their young family. Anthony has been self sourcing wild venison from the Otway's for many years and is keen for others to be able to experience the flavour & nutritional benefits unique to wild harvested Venison. Anthony is an experienced and ethical hunter and qualified game meat harvester. Dama Dama Free Range sources wild fallow deer from private properties in the Otway region.
Previous attempts at pest species control has seen deer shot and left in the forest. Not only does this waste a nutritious food source but leads to an increase in fox, cat and wild dog numbers. Dama Dama Free-range aims to humanely control deer numbers in the Otway's while having minimal impact on the natural environment.
All venison is processed and butchered locally by expert butchers.
